Igorot Scout: "Hunyango"

The mountains is not a safe place for anyone, especially for lowlanders who can easily be lost in the unforgiving trails of the Cordillera. Some believe it is the doing of a mischievous horse demon that plays with travellers but it's just the unfamiliarity and stress from the high altitude that gets people lost and eventually, insane.

Tribes and Natives on the other hand, takes hiking on their mother land as easy as walking in a park. If there was any chance, they could've given each standing pine tree a name and recite each one. To have such skill is common, but to blend with the environment and deceive the senses of the locals is another thing. One must devote himself to be one with nature and spend years of practice to perfect this unusual skill called, "hunyango" (Chameleon). Once achieved, they can be a deadly force who can shoot poisonous blow darts like a phantom and win wars by scouting enemies and alert the Tribe with a Gangsa. Stealth is the Hunyango's bread and butter.
